Plan d'unité Authenticité

The bravery lessons hit different for my third graders—they actually started calling out their own moments of being scared but doing it anyway. The way it ties authenticity into everyday friendship choices made the discussions feel real, not scripted.

The friendship-focused lessons gave my students a safe space to talk about what it really means to support each other, and the way the unit ties authenticity into those discussions feels natural, not forced. My class was actually engaged in the bravery prompts for a full period, which never happens.

The discussion prompts on bravery gave my fifth graders so much to chew on—they were genuinely reflecting on times they'd stood up for themselves. The friendship lesson ties into the authenticity theme perfectly, and the unit's structure made it easy to weave into our existing schedule.
