My kids actually quote this book at each other now — “ask for help like a narwhal!” — because it frames challenges as chances to grow instead of scary obstacles. It’s gotten them to try harder on their own before coming to me, which feels like a small win.
The way this book frames asking for help as a strength, not a weakness, really clicked with my son. The growth mindset message is woven so naturally into the story that he doesn’t even realize he’s learning a lesson. We’ve read it three times this week already.
