Emotional Courage Unit Plan

The lesson structure makes it easy to guide students through welcoming tough emotions without it feeling preachy, and the empathy supports are genuinely thoughtful. I've already used two of the activities with my class and they sparked real conversations I didn't expect.

The lesson prompts on welcoming all emotions were a game-changer for my after-school group, and the empathy activities sparked some surprisingly deep conversations. I’ve already used the resilience sections three times this month, and each session felt fresh.

My third graders really connected with the "welcoming all your emotions" idea, especially the lesson where they named and drew their feelings on index cards. It's not often I find something that builds empathy and resilience so naturally in one package.
